Red Tractor Day was recognised by the marketing industry at the Gramia Awards this week, where the event won a Golden Gramia for Trade PR.
The Gramia Awards (Grocery Advertising and Marketing Industry Awards) recognise creativity and are one of the highest accolades in the marketing industry.
Colin Smith, chairman of of Assured Food Standards (AFS), said: "We are delighted that the impact of Red Tractor Day has been recognised by experts from across the branding world. Our category included strong competition from brands such as United Biscuits, Walls and Walkers Crisps, but our high levels of industry support from the farmer through to the retailer, together with the Prime Minister's endorsement, is what impressed the judges."
According to AFS Red Tractor Day reached 7.7m urban consumers through press, internet and broadcast coverage and was strongly supported by Tesco, which placed Red Tractor Day stickers onto Red Tractor foods. "Assured Food Standards is committed to raising its standards and building brand awareness and understanding of the Red Tractor logo and we hope to enjoy similar success into the future,' added Smith.
