Great impressions: Culshaw to present SuperMeat

One of the UK's leading impressionists will be bringing some extra sparkle to this year's SuperMeat & Fish Awards.

Dead Ringers star Jon Culshaw will be lending his voice, and plenty of others, to procceedings as this year's guest presenter and entertainer.

Culshaw is regarded as one of the UK's best impressionists and has appeared on countless television and radio shows in the last decade.

Meanwhile, Judges are now three-quarters of the way through judging stores for this year's SuperMeat & Fish Awards.

Regions judged so far are the South West of England, the Midlands and the East of England and Northern Ireland.

Stores in Scotland and North of England are currently being judged, with the stores in the South East Of England being completed by the end of May.

Chairman of the judges Fred A'Court said: "A number of new initiatives and design concepts are emerging from the judging of this year's stores. The grand final in July promises to be not only entertaining, but educational as well.

"There have a been a number of highlights from the visits that will be explained and presented on the night."

Product judging has been completed and scores by a wide range of judges that participated are being collated.

The four candidates up for the title are Stuart Roberts, Charles Bournes, Peter Barr and Stewart Houston.

The SuperMeat & Fish awards, which take place at the Hilton Hotel, Park Lane, London, on 3 July, celebrate the best in multiple meat retailing, from the products to the stores, with one retailer being named the overall SuperMeat Retailer of the Year.

Taking part in this year's competition are Asda, Sainsbury's, Tesco, Waitrose, Somerfield, The Co-operative Group and Marks & Spencer.

The awards are being sponsored by the Livestock & Meat Commission, EBLEX, HCC - Meat Promotion Wales, Reiser UK, the Danish Bacon & Meat Council, BPEX, Bord Bía and the Vion Food Group.
