Summer joy for Devon punter

Lucky shopper Mike Fallon will be all kitted out this summer, after winning a brand new barbecue, courtesy of EBLEX.

Mike, from Kingsbridge, Devon, was selected as a winner in the competition as part of a new barbecue-themed consumer campaign 'Tough Standards, Tender Results', designed to promote sales of beef and lamb during the summer months.

Mike, who entered the competition at a local Lloyd Maunder store, said: "I am very pleased indeed. I do love a barbecue and I'm quite an enthusiast. My old barbecue was quite small, so we haven't used it in a while. Winning this wonderful new barbecue is such a treat.

"I noticed EBLEX's competition flyer on the counter, offering the chance to win a new barbecue and thought, why not? It couldn't have been easier to enter."

The competition, part of the EBLEX All Quality Standard scheme, is open to all registered butchers who receive free point-of-sale kits, including the current barbecue-themed one, helping to promote beef and lamb at different times of the year. The kit includes posters, banners, recipe cards and other marketing materials.

EBLEX retail project manager Mike Whittemore said: "Our congratulations go to Mike - it really was a lucky draw, With the promise of a good summer this year, coupled with our barbecue-themed summer promotion running in butchers' shops, it seemed an appropriate prize."
