Peter's Foodservice unveils new pie and sausages
Peter's Food Service and Fuller's is to celebrate St George's Day with the unveiling of a new steak and ale pie at the Fuller's brewery next Monday (21 April).
The pie has been created using a blend of Peter's pastry and steak and Fuller's famous 'London Pride' ale. The pie will be available from major supermarkets, retailers and deli counters at the end of the month.
Last week Peter's Food Service launched a line of premium sausage into one of the UK's leading supermarkets.
The product is the result of in-depth research and development by the team at Peter's lead by technical and retail sales director, David Jackson. Within weeks of its launch to the trade, the product was snapped up by retailing giant, Tesco.
The brief given to the Peter's team was to create a sausage that would appeal to sausage buyers who understood the benefits of quality meat, but who were also price conscious.
The new range encompasses three varieties: Pork, Pork & Leek and Cumberland, which are all available in 454g packs of six sausages.
The packaging has also been given serious consideration with a design expected to attract savvy buyers. It follows the current trend in premium sausage packaging with the sausages sealed in a plastic tray and covered in an attractive cardboard sleeve.
Jackson said: "The new sausages give consumers the best of both worlds - a quality sausage at a good price. Our customers are becoming increasingly aware of meat quality issues and are prepared to pay a little more for a higher quality product."
