Steak success for Yorkshire Dales

Yorkshire Dales Meat Company has won the Best Fresh Meat Product Category in the Deliciouslyorkshire Awards for its Aberdeen Angus Seven Week Matured Sirloin Steak.

The Bedale-based family company hangs the steaks for seven weeks before they are butchered to produce the perfect steak; judges said the product was “a piece of meat that came as close as could be to a good old-fashioned, traditional flavour”.

The company was also nominated for its Aberdeen Angus Seven Week Matured Rib Eye Steak and was nominated in the Prepared Meat Category for its Pork and Caramelised Red Onion Sausage and Golden Sultana Black Pudding.


MD Stephen Knox said it was a huge honour to receive the award. “The Deliciouslyorkshire Awards bring together the very best of the region’s producers and we are proud to be among them,” he said.
