Faerch Plast strengthens business development

Faerch Plast, one of Europe's leading manufacturers of plastic trays and containers for the food industry, has appointed a new business development manager. The appointment of Ian Perkins to the role follows the recent opening of Faerch's new production site in Durham, north-east England, where Perkins will deal with the company's UK meat and poultry sector.

As part of his role, Perkins will be charged with increasing the company's sales of the newly launched high-clarity mono amorphous polyethylene terephthalate (MAPET) containers.

Perkins joined Faerch from Linpac Packaging where he was a sales development manager and sales manager. His role at Linpac saw Perkins grow the company's produce and bakery markets, which included product focus outside the UK through the group's European sites.

Managing director of Faerch's UK operations Joe Iannidindardo said: "We're delighted someone of Ian's calibre is joining the sales team. Faerch Plast is already well-established in the UK food industry and he will play a key role in achieving our ambitious plans for further growth in the meat and poultry arena."
