MTJ celebrates 125 years of service to the industry

This year sees the celebration of a major milestone in the meat industry, as Meat Trades Journal gears up to mark its 125th anniversary in supplying news and information to the trade.

Founded along with the National Federation of Meat and Food Traders in a hotel in Dewsbury, Yorkshire in May 1888, MTJ is now the longest-serving publication to the trade and continues to provide the leading service to the meat and poultry sector.

Ed Bedington, editor of MTJ, said: “To help mark the occasion, MTJ and publisher William Reed Business Media, will be holding a number of different events and activities to celebrate the anniversary throughout 2013, so keep watching this space. We’ll be celebrating both the past and the heritage of the title that has served generations of meat men over time, but also focusing on the future to ensure we continue to deliver the UK’s leading news service for the meat industry.

“In the meantime, feel free to join in the celebrations and share with us your recollections of MTJ over the years.”
