New frozen cookery website launched
The British Frozen Food Federation (BFFF) has launched a new cookery website dedicated to frozen foods, for home cooks across all skill levels.
The Cool Cookery website is designed to encourage the use of frozen foods, with tips on storage, defrosting and regulating the freezer, the life-span of frozen foods and nutritional information.
BFFF director general Brian Young said: "Frozen food offers quality, freshness and convenience without compromise. As we continue to see a rise in premium frozen food products on the market, the new website offers consumer advice about how to incorporate these ingredients and meals into everyday menus."
"Our research shows frozen food is as effective as fresh in providing family nutrition and not only does it cut down food waste, but buying frozen products in bulk also saves time and money – a clear benefit for families feeling the pressure on household budgets. We decided to relaunch the website to fit with changing consumer perceptions, which normalise frozen food," he added.
The website features meal ideas, with a search engine that provides recipes by type, ingredient and course, healthy options, a blog and ‘mum knows best’ section.
