Detectamet launches retractable highlighter pens
Yorkshire company Detectamet is distributing a retractable highlighter pen that will stop lids from falling into food processing equipment.
The no-lid highlighters are proven to be robust, non-toxic and detectable by metal detection and X-ray inspection systems.
CEO Sean Smith said: “The refills are housed in the detectable retractable patented housing design. This stops the ink from drying out. So there’s no need for a cap and no need to worry about a missing cap turning up in the mince.”
One click exposes the nib for writing, then another safely retracts and seals it again. The plastic housing satisfies EU requirements for plastics in safe contact with food and the pen is available, on request, with an attachment for a lanyard for added security.
The pens have durable chisel tips and can write finely or highlight broadly. A standard pack comes with five different coloured pens, although single-colour packs are also available on request. Refills can also be purchased in packs of five.
