TMI hope to cook up success in the US
A UK bacon producer is celebrating after becoming the first in the country to gain approval from the US Department of Agriculture for its cooked bacon range.
TMI Foods, based in Northampton, part of the Dawn Farm group, is the only cooked bacon producer in the UK to gain approval and are now able to export products to the US.
Ian Ritchie, TMI Foods’ UK sales director, said: “We are delighted to have earned this prestigious award from USDA, which recognises that we have a state-of-the-art factory and systems enabling us to produce cooked bacon and other proteins to the very highest standards.
“We source the best pork bellies and backs available from selected UK and European suppliers. By sourcing these leaner cuts of meat and investing in precision curing, we have been able to drive healthier options which still deliver distinctive flavours.”
