Welsh red meat on display at Food & Drink Expo
Welsh Lamb and Beef will feature at the UK’s largest food and drink trade show next week.
Food & Drink Expo 2014 takes place from 24-26 March at the NEC in Birmingham, and Hybu Cig Cymru – Meat Promotion Wales (HCC) will be there to showcase Welsh meat on Stand L160.
Laura Dodds, HCC’s market development manager, said: “HCC’s focus will be on Welsh Lamb and Welsh Beef. Examples of our meat will be on display and visitors will be able to taste samples cooked on the stand.
“They will also be able to discuss business ideas with our staff. We will emphasise the versatility of various cuts, as well as highlight the qualities that have earned both Welsh Lamb and Welsh Beef Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status from the European Commission, putting us on a par with other European protected name foods such as Champagne and Parma Ham.”
