Acquisitions boost sales at Cranswick

Cranswick saw total sales increase 13% for the year to 13 March 2014, following a series of acquisitions.

Underlying sales were up 12% year-on-year over the same period, with strong growth seen across most product categories, particularly fresh pork, bacon and cooked meats, according to the firm.

Sales of its pastry products were also boosted by the launch of new ranges during the year.

The firm also saw exports increase, reflecting robust demand for pork products in Far Eastern markets.

During the financial year Cranswick invested in excess of 20m in its infrastructure, and saw its new gourmet pastry facility commissioned at Malton in North Yorkshire.

Work is still ongoing on the extension to its Milton Keynes cooked meats facility.
