New chief executive at Bernard Matthews
Bernard Matthews has announced the appointment of Rob Burnett as its new chief executive.
Burnett will join the business at the end of June. He said: “I am excited to be joining a big brand with the reach of Bernard Matthews and the potential to reinvigorate it to support our valuable customers.”
He was previously the chief executive of S Daniels PLC and Hain Daniels, while he also has experience at New Covent Garden Soup, Johnson’s Juice, Linda McCartney and Hartleys.
David Joll, the Bernard Matthews executive chairman, said: “We are delighted to have Rob joining us to continue and accelerate the recovery of our business which is well under way.”
The company has endured hard times recently, announcing dramatic losses last year. It has had no chief executive since May 2013, when Noel Bartram stepped down from the post.
