Eblex to use videos for communication

Eblex plans to use online videos as a resource for levy payers after the appointment of a new media officer

The new media strategy coincides with the launch of a new mobile app, which allows users access to the latest news from the beef and sheep sectors. Eblex plans on further modernising with the introduction of videos.

Eblexs new media officer Ben Coates said: Video is becoming one of the main communication channels of choice worldwide, and the number of online video users is expected to double to 1.5 billion in 2016. This is particularly prevalent among smartphone users, with online video now accounting for 50% of all mobile traffic and up to 69% of traffic on certain networks [source: Digiday]. It is therefore vital to successful communications for an organisation like this.

Im delighted to join the Eblex team and am looking forward to showcasing the work of the organisation. The focus will be on producing informative, yet easily digestible content to help the beef and sheep supply chain become more efficient.

There is so much emerging resource and technical information available from the Better Returns Programme alone, and video is an ideal vehicle to share it with the industry.

Eblex head of communications James Wilde added: Ben brings a new skillset, which will complement our team and make a valuable contribution to our ongoing communications work.

We hope that pushing key messages and organisational updates through short, informative videos will help us provide even more information to beef and sheep meat businesses.
