Great Taste Award-winner brings out snacking salami
Salami charcuterie specialist Serious Pig has launched a new ‘snacking salami’ product for retailers.
The winner of a Great Taste Award is offering retailers its new snacking range, which consists of 25 boxed salami sticks in ‘classic’ or ‘chilli paprika’ flavours.
Serious Pig founder George Rice explained: “Following a very successful trial period we’re now rolling out this new format for customers who’d prefer to offer our salamis alongside the rest of their charcuterie. The costs saved by not packing each individual salami are passed on, reducing the price by 25% which increases the rate of sale, plus seeing all the salami stacked up looks very appetising indeed.
“Initial interest and uptake has been excellent and we see this becoming a large part of our business, especially as more and more customers recognise the quality of British charcuterie.”
A box of 25, 28g salami wholesale at £20 (80p each or £25.57/kg) and each salami has an RRP of £1.30. Both the ‘Classic’ and ‘Chilli & Paprika’ Snacking Salami are available in the new box format.
