Welsh red meat body to embark on autumn campaign for lamb
‘Not all lamb is created equal’ is the motto of the new marketing campaign from Hybu Cig Cymru (HCC), which aims to raise consumer demand of Welsh Lamb.
The Welsh meat promotion body aims to emphasise the high quality of Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) Welsh lamb with a new £500,000 advertising campaign. The campaign will concentrate on- and offline advertising, PR and focus on social media activity, including: “Fresh TV, digital and consumer press advertising in lifestyle, food and supermarket magazines picks up where previous ads left off,” HCC reported.
Philippa Gill, HCC’s brand marketing executive, said: “With some fresh strategic thinking and more than a little creativity, we’re confident this integrated approach, which puts the digital consumer at the heart of our communications, will deliver real benefits for everyone in the supply chain.
“Make sure you’re fully stocked with Welsh Lamb. It’s what customers will be looking for this season.”
HCC said the campaign will kick off in September with online advertising and point-of-sale promotions in independent butchers’ shops.
