Red meat body hosts Dominican Republic visit

Industry professionals from the Dominican Republic were introduced to UK beef and lamb production and given an insight into livestock genetics during a recent visit hosted by Eblex.

The Dominican delegates looked around farms to observe different production systems, as well as visiting the Sheep Event at the Three Counties Showground, including a trip to the Eblex stand at the show.

Furthermore, the visitors attended a number of presentations given by the Eblex team during a visit to Stoneleigh Park, covering topics such as export, breeding and production systems, and an overview of the Quality Standard Mark (QSM).

Susana Morris, Eblex assistant export manager, said: “The visit from the Dominican Republic delegation was very successful and provided a valuable first-hand look at a wide spectrum of work relating to our beef and sheep meat production.

“They were particularly interested in the field of genetics, an area in which Eblex has a vast amount of expertise, and we were delighted to be able to share our knowledge in this area.”
