Welsh meat body runs lamb recipe competition
Budding Welsh chefs are being encouraged to enter their best lamb recipes for the chance to win the Baafta Award.
Hybu Cig Cymru (HCC), the meat promotion body for Wales, is asking aspiring chefs top upload pictures of their lamb dishes to eatwelshlamb.co.uk for a chance to win over Ł100 of Welsh Lamb.
Hopefuls can enter dishes into four categories; ‘Sunday Boast’, ‘Midweek Masterpiece’, ‘Welsh Whizzardry’ and ‘Cosmopolitan Creation’, which HCC hopes will show the versatility of the meat.
Entrants are also using social media to enter and share pictures of their meals.
Philippa Gill of HCC said: “We know there are thousands of foodies out there enjoying Welsh Lamb every day, and every one of them has a favourite recipe, whether it’s a bhuna or a burger, or perhaps a traditional family recipe.
“We’ve set out to find some of the best and share them with a wider audience. There’s a dedicated gallery on the eatwelshlamb.co.uk website and the best entries will appear on our social media pages. We think it’s a great way to inspire other enthusiastic cooks to rediscover the unique flavour and wide range of cuts that Welsh Lamb offers at the height of the autumn season.”
