Bpex puts focus on pulled pork
Pork levy board, Bpex has announced it is to make pulled pork the focus of its spring pork promotional campaign, aimed at younger consumers.
The details of the campaign will be revealed at Bpex’s Regional Producer events, detailed below.
Bpex head of marketing Kirsty Walker said: “The focus of this will be on pulled pork. Consumer research has shown us that pulled pork is a dish consumers are keen to know more about and it also utilises shoulder, one of the less popular cuts.
“Extensive research showed that pork had a comparatively poor image, particularly among younger people who didn’t know how to cook it. There will also be an update on the retail market, how pork is performing.”
The dates and locations are:
18 November – Diss Rugby Club
19 November – The Granary, Kidderminster
25 November – Wetherby Racecourse
1 December – Exeter Rugby Club
2 December – Newbury Rugby Club
Full programme details and online booking are available at http://www.bpex.org.uk/events/conferences/upcoming.aspx? Places can also be booked by calling 02476 647 8792.
