Scottish meat company to triple production site
Scottish meat firm, We Hae Meat, has announced plans to triple the size of its site in Ayrshire, opening up jobs for local people.
We Hae Meat, which supplies meat products to major retailers in Scotland, including Asda, Tesco, The Co-operative, Aldi and Waitrose, has requested planning permission to extend its cutting and packing plant in Girvan.
The plans would see the site triple in size and production and create 15 new jobs, adding to the 43 people currently working at the site.
Owners Alex and Carlyn Paton, who also operate Cairnhill Farms that supplies top hotels and restaurants throughout the UK with steaks and other primal cuts, said the expansion would allow the company to meet growing demand for their products.
Carlyn Paton commented: “We are currently producing more than 30 different product lines across our two brands, but have 10 more in development, with buyers lined up in both the UK and abroad. Our planned expansion will allow us the capacity to launch these lines and secure our ongoing business growth and success.”
