Importance of leather highlighted to meat industry

The Institute for Creative Leather Technologies (ICLT) is opening its doors on 17 February to highlight the importance of leather, as a sector, to the meat industry.

The University of Northampton-based centre researches scientific and technological applications of leather, as well as key issues within the leather and related industries.

The day will include a tour of the ICLT site labs and tannery, followed by a visit to the Leather Conservation Centre. Visitors and experts will also take part in a live debate on the environmental footprint of leather.

Those interested in the visit can contact Mary Fisher on or 01525 371641. Numbers are limited to 20 attendees and applications will be treated on a first-come first-served basis.
