Scotch Beef and Lamb sponsor pie competition
Scotch Beef PGI and Scotch Lamb PGI will be on show at the British Pie Awards, as they are on the line-up of sponsors at the Melton Mowbray event.
The awards have been running since 2009, and celebrate British pies in all their varieties, Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) said it will be sponsoring two classes at the world-renowned awards in Melton Mowbray on 22 April.
Laurent Vernet, head of marketing at QMS, said: “A top-quality pie is a fantastic way to showcase the first-class food ingredients we have and also the craftsmanship skills of those who work in our industry.
“The best pies perfectly combine tradition and innovation to create a heavenly sensory experience with every mouthful and I am looking forward to joining the judges in the categories we are sponsoring – Beef and Ale Pie and Lamb Pie.”
The awards are open to all pie-makers who sell them commercially; the closing date is 3 April. More information can be found at www.britishpieawards.co.uk.
