Moy Park secures green accolade from KFC
Poultry producer Moy Park has been recognised for sustainability and environmental performance by KFC, at the fast food chain’s recent Supplier Awards.
Moy Park was presented with the “prestigious” Environmental Award, for demonstrating “outstanding environmental commitment”.
The food company was rewarded for achieving zero waste to landfill status across all 14 of its manufacturing sites and its agricultural base, as well as investing significant capital in the very latest renewable biomass technology.
KFC also recognised that Moy Park was the first UK poultry company to be acknowledged in the UK’s Corporate Responsibility Index, “the UK’s leading and most in-depth voluntary benchmark of corporate responsibility”.
Ian Hyland, director of sales-foodservice at Moy Park, said: “We’re delighted that KFC has rewarded Moy Park’s commitment to superior environmental performance with this accolade. Our sustainability agenda focuses not just on the environment, but also on customers, suppliers, workplace and the community – similar to the ethos and values of KFC.
“The entire team at Moy Park is committed to advancing our leadership in these areas, with 2015 set to be a very exciting year for the company as we continually invest in our operations and factories.”
