Eblex offers mobile video resource

Producers now have “a wealth of video resources” available to them on the Eblex mobile app, which can be accessed even without a live internet connection, according to the levy body.

The app now features an Eblex TV button, with videos under three categories – Sheep, Beef and News. Farmers can view ‘how to’ tutorial videos under each subheading. Eblex explained that once the videos have been watched the first time with an internet connection, they can then be viewed again at any point without any signal at all.

Eblex media officer Ben Coates said: “Analytics show that the most popular videos on our YouTube channel, Eblex TV, are the ‘how to’ videos which demonstrate best practice techniques. We wanted to make these available to farmers and producers ‘in the field’ so they can refer to them when they really need to. The app now offers this.”

The app also offers access to the latest prices, trends, events, news, Better Returns Programme resources and weather reports, localised to the current location.

The videos now available on the app can also be accessed at Eblex’s video channel Eblex TV, at www.youtube.com/user/EblexAHDB. The aforementioned ‘how to’ videos cover subjects such as administering anthelmintics, conducting a ram MOT, body condition scoring, using the Eblex sward stick, harvesting crops for crimping, and identifying causes of lameness.

The app is free of charge and can be found on Apple’s App Store or Google Play.
