Northern Irish butcher’s wins innovation accolade
Butchers Hannan Meats has been awarded an Excellence in Innovation at the Belfast Telegraph Northern Ireland Business Awards.
Hannan Meats, former winner of our Butcher’s Shop of the Year Innovation prize, in Moira, Co Armagh, was recognised for its unique salt ageing process, which uses Himalayan salt.
The category was sponsored by the Federation of Small Businesses.
Hannan Meats reported on the award: “As an independent producer, processor, wholesaler and distributor to the foodservice in Northern Ireland, Hannan’s has changed the way quality meat is being sourced, through helping to establish a unique producer group made up of 58 farmers from across Northern Ireland.
“More recently, the company’s innovative approach is reflected in its development of an inimitable salt ageing process, which introduced two Himalayan Salt Chambers – a first in Northern Ireland.”
