Prestwich kosher supplier gains finance deal
A kosher meat trader has secured a new finance facility that will allow it to continue to grow throughout Europe.
KM Meats, which operates in Prestwich, supplies Jewish businesses throughout the UK and on the Continent including schools, manufacturers and butchers with product it buys from abattoirs across the UK and Ireland. It has just signed a deal with Aldermore Bank, to allow it to access the funds when needed, to facilitate large orders.
Ben Ellis, commercial director of KM Meats, said the business was seeing an increase in demand for its meats, particularly in France, although the UK market for kosher meat was “fairly static”, he said.
“Over the past 10 years we’ve built up a great reputation across Europe and we’re seeing a significant increase in demand for our kosher meat. It’s good to know that we won’t have to turn down business if an order is particularly large, or we see a sudden surge in demand.”
