Jim Viggars leaves role as head of fresh meat at Asda
Long-standing Asda meat specialist Jim Viggars has left the supermarket after three decades of service.
Viggars had been the face of Asda’s TV adverts for its Butcher’s Selection range and was awarded the supermarket’s internal Peter Asquith award in 2014 after 30 years at the company.
Viggars started work at Asda as a trainee butcher and progressed through the ranks to become a butcher, a meat manager, a sales development manager and then a trainee buyer. He started working in his most recent role at Asda, as a senior trader, 10 years ago.
Although confirming Viggars’ exit, Asda was unable to provide any further comment on the departure.
