gold medal haul for mid-west
Butchers in the mid-west have been celebrating after winning 77 gold awards from the BPEX's second product evaluation event of the season.
In total, 27 butchers from the region entered 220 products into the event, which was held at Malvern Three Counties Showground in Worcestershire on 11 October.
Pauline Phipps from R. A. Phipps in Worcestershire was crowned Regional Champion with her pork, chicken and apple pie and also named Supreme Sausage Champion for her traditional pork sausage.
Teme Vale Victuallars, also based in Worcestershire, took home two champion titles with Chrys Titshall named Speciality Pork Sausage Champion, and James Mealing taking the Ready Meal category.
