Dalziel launches premium gammon
Retail butchery specialist Dalziel has launched its own premium gammon brand called Oakwell Gold, under an exclusive partnership with supplier Pork Traders Oakwell.
Oakwell Gold is the top-of-the-range horseshoe gammon, selected and produced with a new mild cure. It is exclusively available from Dalziel’s meat depots throughout the UK.
Dalziel meat sales director David Whyatt said: “We are delighted to team up with Pork Traders Oakwell to introduce our first exclusive gammon brand. Having worked with them for 10 years, we know that Oakwell Gold Horseshoe Gammons are the very best. Demand for our Horseshoe Gammons is already doubling week on week, and sales are proving tremendously successful.”
Pork Traders Oakwell was an award-winner at Dalziel’s Annual Meat Sales Conference in Keswick, Cumbria last year, which recognises top meat suppliers to the Dalziel Group for their continued support and excellent range of products.
Ellis Morphet, director at Pork Traders Oakwell, said: “With a family tradition going back nearly 100 years, our business thrives on customer satisfaction and the knowledge that we are producing probably the UK’s finest-quality gammon.
“Our products are specifically created for today’s demanding markets. We are proud of our long partnership with Dalziel, which shares our commitment to premium quality, value and presentation, which are all of crucial importance.”
Oakwell Gold is the third exclusive meat brand to be launched by Dalziel, following the launch of its ‘Glenvale’ pork range with Westvlees in June, and its highly successful ‘Drovers beef range’ in partnership with Dunbia three years ago.
