Edwards of Conwy makes burgers with Sir Terry
Butcher’s Shop of the Year winner Edwards of Conwy will appear on TV this week following a visit from Sir Terry Wogan.
The veteran TV and radio personality and London cabbie Mason McQueen are on a food trip around the UK to explore the food of various locations referenced in a 1963 book by Samuel Chamberlain.
Their journey, using the knowledge of local people, has lead them to the historic town of Conwy and through the doors of Edwards of Conwy.
Alongside managing director Ieuan Edwards and his team of master butchers, the pair received a crash course in basic butchery skills; cutting Welsh Beef off the bone, mincing, seasoning and pressing burgers to Edwards of Conwy’s award-winning recipe.
The group then took to Conwy High Street to share their Welsh Beef Burgers and speak with locals.
Edwards said: “We are very proud of our craftsmanship and the whole team were eager to share our story and skills with Terry and Mason.”
The program will first air on BBC2 on Tuesday 15 September at 18:30, but will also be available on catch-up TV (BBC iPlayer).
