AHDB Beef & Lamb appoints new strategy director

Laura Ryan has been appointed as AHDB Beef & Lamb’s new sector strategy director. After successfully launching premium beef and lamb brands in the North East of England, she joined AHDB in 2007. Prior to her new appointment, she held the position of head of strategic marketing.

“I am delighted to have Laura as part of the strategy team,” said Tom Hind, chief strategy officer. Ryan will be working alongside five other strategy directors covering the levy board’s pork, dairy, horticulture, potatoes and cereals & oilseeds sectors.

“She will bring some exciting ideas as well as extensive supply chain and marketing experience to support both the beef and lamb sector and our wider team,” added Hind.

Ryan’s appointment comes after a recent restructure of AHDB, in an effort to improve its delivery to levy payers to improve the future of the organisation.

Her duties will see her shape the vision of how AHDB is best able to support the beef and lamb sector to improve its competitive edge and its sustainability.

In addition, she will be working with other strategy directors across the levy board in delivering agreed plans and to ensure that the beef and lamb levies are being used to full potential. She will take up her post shortly.
