We Hae Meat celebrates partnership with The Co-operative

Ayrshire-based family butcher business We Hae Meat has forged a supply deal worth £600,000 with 50 Co-operative stores throughout Scotland.

This news comes after a series of successes for the family business. In April this year, We Hae Meat secured a deal with Asda worth £250,000 to supply its Single Portion pies, which was followed by a supply contract for its recently launched frozen range.

“The deal with The Co-op is a great end to what has been a very successful and exciting year for We Hae Meat,” said company director Alex Paton.

As a result of this new deal, an extra six jobs will be created at the company’s Cairnhill Farm production plant, which adds to the 50-strong workforce already in existence.

“We are delighted to be working with over 50 Co-op stores and that this partnership has allowed us to create jobs for local Ayrshire people,” added Paton.

The inspiration behind this range, exclusive to Co-op, was to bring butcher’s shop quality produce to the supermarket. The products that will be stocked in the supermarket include beef olives, peppered steak, haggis olives, spiced beef and diced beef. All products are created using premium, quality-assured meat from the family farm.

Paton hopes the success that was brought to the company in 2015 will be replicated in the coming New Year. He concluded: “As we begin to look to 2016, we hope to work closely with The Co-op and have the chance to roll out our premium meat products to even more stores across Scotland.”
