E.coli risk management to be addressed
Tackling shiga-toxin producing E.coli (STEC) and providing risk management for it will be a focus at this year’s AHDB Beef & Lamb Processor Conference.
Taking place on 25 February in Stratford, Warwickshire, the conference will feature a presentation by Food Standards Agency (FSA) head of food hygiene policy Linden Jack on development of EU guidance and how the FSA is working with the government to agree risk management approaches to STEC.
The conference will include an overview of beef food standard controls in the US by Dr Kenneth Petersen, senior vice-president, quality and regulatory affairs, OSI Group, as well as information on AHDB Beef & Lamb’s new cut development work.
Dr Phil Hadley, AHDB Beef & Lamb head of global supply chain development, said: “Risk management in the meat supply chain is an important area for research and industry discussion. Our conference provides the ideal forum for debate on this and other key issues affecting the supply chain in our sector and I would encourage any stakeholders with an interest to register to attend.”
