Poultry feed manufacturer 2Agriculture to relocate milling premises
A leading manufacturer for poultry feed, 2Agriculture, is planning on relocating its Edinburgh mill to new state of the art facilities.
A number of sites are being reviewed in the Rosyth area in Scotland. Such a relocation would allow for redevelopment of the existing site at Edinburgh airport into office space, hotel and leisure facilities.
“I am delighted to be able to make this announcement which demonstrates our continued commitment to supporting a sustainable Scottish poultry industry,” said Gavin Berry, managing director of 2Agriculture.
“2Agriculture is one of the UK’s leading independent milling businesses which has been supplying feed to the poultry sector for over 50 years. As experts in poultry feed, 2Agriculture manufactures top-quality feeds formulated to deliver consistent, high-quality, value performance. Today the business manufactures just under one million tonnes of feed annually and distributes this to its growing base of farming customers across the UK. Working alongside farmers we can develop, tailor and formulate feed rations and plans to suit specific farming methods and objectives.”
The company’s investment in modern facilities and technology will have the capacity of 300,000t per annum. As a result, it will enable 2Agriculture to run a more efficient process. Currently, the business operates three monogastric feed mills situated in Scotland, East Anglia and North Wales. The mills manufacture a comprehensive range of broiler, broiler breeder, layer and duck feed.
“We are working with some of the best architects and planners in the UK – and have a shortlist of four construction companies who will execute this new-build project for us,” added Berry.
“By replacing our older Edinburgh mill, we will be able to ensure our customers enjoy excellence at every level – from the grain as it enters the mill, state of the art technology and engineering through to delivery on farm. Continuing to make significant investment into equipment, technology and infrastructure means that 2Agriculture can operate with the latest innovations – making us a modern, efficient and reliable business to work with.”
