New chair for BDCI Festival 2016
Steve Crosby, chairman of Riverway Foods, is to take over from Ocado’s head of buying, Rose Price, as the BDCI (Butchers' and Drovers' Charitable Institution) festival chairman for 2016.
Having started his career in the meat industry in 1969, Crosby has run Harlow-based Riverway Foods since he set it up in 1999 and produces premium quality sausages for the retail trade.
Crosby said: “I wanted to take on the role of festival chairman to continue Rose Price’s excellent work and help raise funds for the charity. I am looking forward to the year ahead and I hope that I can count on the support of everyone working in the meat trade to help those who are less fortunate than themselves.”
The BDCI Annual Festival Dinner will be held at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Friday 21 October while the Annual Golf Day will take place at Surrey Downs Golf Course on Wednesday 14 September.
