Meat snacks hit the health market
Meatsnacks Group, one of the largest producers of jerky and biltong in Europe, has announced the launch of a new biltong and jerky range aimed at the health and fitness market.
Named Strive and filled with protein, the company is capitalising on the increasingly popular meat snack sector. Strive Beef Jerky and Strive Beef Biltong claim to be the “ultimate” post-workout snack by providing consumers with a lighter, gluten-free alternative to other dried meat snacks, while maintaining its flavour.
“We’re really excited to be launching Strive this year; with high protein and low calories, Strive is designed to be the ultimate post-workout snack for fitness enthusiasts and athletes without compromising on taste,” said James Newitt, managing director of Meatsnacks Group.
The company claim the new range of healthy meat snacks are produced using the best cuts of silverside beef sourced from with the UK and EU, and are marinated with natural store cupboard ingredients.
At 268 calories per 100g, Meatsnacks believes the biltong range to be the lowest in calories on the market, while the jerky offers at least 40% protein per pack, helping post-training recovery.
Strive Biltong and Jerky were launched this month and are available for £2. Although only accessible online at the moment, the range is due to hit the shelves at a later date.
