Trailblazer scheme ready to blast off
The Butchery Trailblazer Scheme is set to be officially launched at an event later this month.
Taking place on 22 March at the Brewers Hall in London, the event will feature discussions on the benefits of the scheme, the awarding and assessment services and future potential developments for butchery apprenticeships.
There will also be a presentation by Walter Smith Fine Foods on why they have switched to the new Trailblazer standard.
Bill Jermey, chief executive of The Food & Drink Training and Education Council, said: “The Butchery Trailblazer Apprenticeship is the first in the food sector to reach the market with an approved assessment plan and assessment organisation (FDQ) ready to deliver. This event, funded by BIS, will inform employers, training providers and other interested parties about the massive change occurring, the funding mechanisms and the benefits to all concerned.”
