Award-winning butcher puts the Bang Bang into bangers
Wiltshire-based butcher Walter Rose & Son is celebrating local boxing champion with a specially designed sausage.
Available for a limited time only, the Bang Bang sausage has been created to honour Nick Blackwell. This innovation comes after the butcher’s shop recently entered a sponsorship deal with British middleweight boxing champion Blackwell.
The sausage is produced using pork and jalapeńo and took its name from Blackwell’s moniker among boxing circles.
“When we found out that Nick was known as ‘Bang Bang’ Blackwell, it seemed like a great opportunity to put his name to a sausage,” commented the butcher’s shop.
“We wanted to create something that reflected his character, so we have gone with a sausage that really packs a punch.”
The sausage is being launched to tie in with the run-up to Blackwell’s next Wembley fight on Saturday 26 March, where he will be fighting Chris Eubank Jr to defend his title.
Walter Rose & Son was awarded Butcher’s Shop of the Year Winner for the South of England at Meat Trades Journal’s annual awards last November.
