North Yorkshire farm shop gets new butchery counter
The Balloon Tree Farm Shop at Gate Helmsley in York has incorporated a new butchery counter with the help of The Yorkshire Wagyu Company.
The farm shop was the first retail outlet to stock the wagyu business’ premium beef when it launched last June, reporting consistently strong sales ever since.
Opening on Good Friday (25 March), the butchery counter will be managed by The Yorkshire Wagyu Company’s in-house butcher Aaron Marshall, who is also new to the team.
“Our customers love Yorkshire Wagyu and I’m confident that having a butcher on site to butcher wagyu to their requirements and give cooking advice will be very well received,” said Matthew Machin, the Balloon Tree’s owner.
The launch of the counter will be promoted, with The Yorkshire Wagyu Company offering free samples of wagyu, cooked by the company’s chef Nick Dawson, in its bespoke catering trailer.
Operating hours of the butchery counter will be between 10am and 3pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with Yorkshire Wagyu being available pre-packed when the unit is closed.
