Multivac UK launches new and improved facilities
One of the UK’s leading packaging companies, Multivac UK, officially opened its refurbished premises on Thursday 17 March 2016.
The £2.5-3 million restoration at the Swindon facility, which covers around 2,700 square metres, took eight months to complete and includes a showroom area for the company to showcase its equipment, as well as a training room and temperature-controlled product development centre.
Delegates in attendance, including meat processing companies and members of the media, were treated to a tour of the new premises, as well as having the opportunity to see how the equipment worked first-hand.
John Lakin, UK managing director of the company, said the development will provide new opportunities for the company.
“With these facilities, we can now offer our customers additional options for carrying out packaging tests,” explained Lakin.
“The installation of the demo room will completely change the type of trials we can now carry out. Multivac can now provide an area suitable for shelf-life trials and edible sample manufacture, cutting new product development times drastically for processors and retailers alike.”
