Argo Foods issues chicken recall
Scottish poultry firm Argo Foods has recalled some whole cooked chicken products, due to the fact it had been producing and selling them with a shelf-life that was extended beyond the validated shelf-life, potentially posing a risk to human health.
All sizes in the range have been recalled, with the ‘use by’ dates ranging between 20 April 2016 and 4 May 2016.
At this stage, Food Standards Scotland noted it was aware that initial distribution was limited to Scotland. However, this product may have had onward distribution to other parts of the UK. It warned consumers that if they had bought any of these products, to not eat them but rather return the product to the store from where it was bought.
