Scottish consumers encouraged to cook with local meat

Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) has launched a new series of family-friendly, quick-step recipe videos to help consumers get the most out of Scotch Beef PGI, Scotch Lamb PGI and Speciality Selected Pork.

The first in the 60-second videos, which includes braised pork ragu and beef Wellington, are set to be launched by QMS’s Good Family Food Facebook page to encourage followers on social media to use more Scottish meat.

“This new series of videos will highlight to busy parents just how easy it is to cook with quality local ingredients,” said Carol McLaren, QMS’ head of communications.

“The recipes have been created in simple steps using short, fast-motion videos which are optimised for Facebook to ensure they appeal to today’s social media-savvy consumers who are increasingly looking online for recipe inspiration.

“As well as being easy to prepare, these recipes are all very nutritious and are dishes the whole family can enjoy.”

The easy-cooking series will initially focus on Specially Selected Pork and Scotch Beef PGI to coincide with the campaigns behind the brands. The new Scotch Lamb PGI video recipes will launch in the coming month in conjunction with the Scotch Lamb campaign.
