Global opportunities to be discussed at AHDB industry conference

The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) is to highlight international markets and innovation for growth at the 12th AHDB Meat Export Conference.

Agriculture Councillor at the British Embassy in Beijing, Karen Morgan, will be a keynote speaker where she will give an update on developments in China. Dr Phil Hadley, AHDB Beef & Lamb head of global supply chain development will provide a presentation on managing the complexity of market access.

Also in attendance will be Marek Schejbal from the British-Polish Chamber of Commerce, who will discuss export opportunities in Poland whilst Kevin Mimura will present on Nippon Ham in Europe and the market in Japan.

“2015 was undoubtedly a challenging year for exports, given the strength of sterling and difficult market conditions,” said Jean-Pierre Garnier, AHDB Beef & Lamb export manager.

“We have, however, made a positive start to 2016 and the export conference is the ideal platform for us to discuss latest market developments and opportunities for growth.”

The event is free for AHDB Beef & Lamb and AHDB Pork stakeholders and will take place at the Hilton Hotel, Stratford Road, Warwick on Wednesday 29 June.
