Burnley abattoir bought from administration
The sale of Burnley-based abattoir B Riley & Sons to Dale Valley Rossendale has reached completion.
Company Check has listed Dale Valley Rossendale as a new company directed by Stephen Lee Riley.
Paul Flint and David Standish of KPMG, the joint administrators for the abattoir, announced that they have completed the sale of the business and key assets to Dale Valley Rossendale on 29 June.
“B Riley & Sons was one of the largest independent abattoir and meat processing businesses in the North of England, and a major supplier of lamb to the European market,” said Flint. “We are therefore delighted to have been able to conclude this complex sale following a six month marketing and negotiation period, and particularly in light of the events of the last seven days.”
Flint and Standish were appointed the joint administrators in December of last year when the company went through cashflow difficulties. Sanderson Weatherall and Eversheds assisted on the transaction.
