Crawshaws set for further shop openings
Forty new jobs are to be created in the north west as the fresh meat and food to go retailer prepares to open two new stores.
Crawshaws will open its 48th store in Southport this month, followed by its 49th store next month.
The investment, worth £500,000, is part of a larger growth strategy, which will see Crawshaws Group invest £200 million in the region by 2022, opening 200 stores and creating 2,500 jobs.
“The north west is an important area of growth for us: we have opened four stores in the last six months in the region and we are looking forward to delighting more customers with our fantastic range of fresh quality produce at everyday low prices, priding ourselves on being 35% cheaper than supermarkets,” explained chief executive Noel Collett.
The two new stores will be 2,300 sq ft each, with the Southport store replacing an old The Body Shop and the Burnley shop taking over from a JD Sports.
“We have already created over 100 jobs in the north west over the last six months and recruitment across the region is a key focus for us,” added Collett. “Regardless of experience we are looking for people to be a part of an exciting and rapidly growing dynamic company and welcome those with a hunger for growth to get in touch. 85% of our butchers are trained within the store, having come to us from a range of previous roles, and 70% of our store managers are trained and promoted within the business.”
The butchers has recently prepared a ‘food to go’ menu which has been launched under the ‘Butcher’s Kitchen’ brand.
