Stolen lamb could be used as meat, police warn
Police are appealing for information following the theft of a seven-month-old lamb from a field in Romsey, Hampshire. It is thought that the lamb could be sold on as meat.
The incident took place at some time between 9pm on Thursday, 11 August and Friday, 12 August.
“It is likely that the lamb was lifted over the fence and it will probably be used for food, as it is unlikely that it could be sold on to live with another flock,” said PC Steve Rogerson.
“The stolen lamb had tags in each ear, an orange one, and a yellow one, with the tag number 03715.
“If you have any information about this incident, please get in touch with us on 101.”
