AHDB Pork awards open for entries
Butchers across the country are being encouraged to enter the Agriculture & Horticulture Development Board’s (AHDB) Pork awards.
The competition provides a platform for butchers to put their pork products, and business, into the spotlight. There is an option of 12 categories to choose from including pies, ready meals, bacon and sausages.
Every product entered into the competition will be evaluated on its own merits and, depending on standards, will be rewarded with a Gold, Silver or Bronze certificate which is sure to help boost sales.
Products that achieve a Gold award will have the opportunity to be crowned Category Champion. From the 12 category champions, an Overall Champion will then be decided - as well as have an opportunity to enter this year’s Champion of Champions Competition.
The competition will be held on Sunday, 25 September at the Dalziel Butchers Show in Newcastle where butchers will also have the opportunity to network from other members of the industry, as well as discussing latest products and trade initiatives.
