CP Foods announces acquisition of The Foodfellas Ltd

CP Foods (UK) has revealed that it has acquired a controlling interest in The Foodfellas Ltd.

Both companies pride themselves on being committed to quality, customer service and foodservice channel understanding, with this move strengthening these areas of focus.

CP Foods’ portfolio includes Taste Inc, Carisma and Chillers – a chilled, sliced cooked chicken brand, while Foodfellas is a foodservice supplier covering meat and poultry products such as lamb, pork ribs and beef ribs & salt beef, committed to growing the casual dining market.

The Foodfellas’ directors will retain a significant shareholding in the company while working to grow the wider business.

“This is a great move for both businesses,” said Clive Britton, commercial director of CP Foods. “From the beginning of the discussions, it was clear we had a shared heritage in, and passion for, the food industry and that we were jointly committed to doing better business and bringing great-tasting products to all our customers – and their consumers.”

Both firms will together to deliver a broader portfolio of market-leading products into a deeper and more channel-focused marketplace.

“We are delighted to be able to join the extended family of such a dynamic and exciting global business,” commented Marc Werter, director of The Foodfellas. “We’ve spend the last decade working tirelessly to ensure The Foodfellas is the best possible business it can be – sharing a range of targeted products with some of the biggest names in the UK foodservice. Our product ranges complement each other perfectly and ensure that our combined portfolio is now not only comprehensive in its scope and scale, but also best-in-class in terms of performance, taste and customer service.”
