Finnebrogue launches flexitarian brand at Waitrose
Northern Irish food processor Finnebrogue Artisan has launched its first flexitarian brand, Funky Flexitarian, at Waitrose in Britain.
The new range, including spicy lamb’alafal chipolatas, smokey pork n’bombay bangers, lightly curried cauli’nation chicken chipolatas and tasty beef, tomato n’basil bangers can be found in 120 Waitrose stores.
The Funky Flexitarian range was developed to cater to the increasing demand for a flexitarian market in Britain while meeting food intolerances, such as gluten- and lactose-free. The products have also been designed for consumers wishing to reduce their daily meat intake, while maintaining a healthy and balanced diet.
“At Finnebrogue Artisan we believe that eating a balanced diet is the key to good health and wellbeing, while still feeling satisfied with what you have on your plate,” said Jo Discombe, Finnebrogue’s business development director.
“Funky Flexitarian uses prime cuts of British meat, combined with all sorts of nutritious extras.”
Each variety of sausage contains 40% British meat, 47% vegetables and legumes, 3% herbs, spices and seasonings and 10% gluten-free bread crumb.
