New independent member sought for AHDB Pork

AHDB is looking for a pig producer and an independent member to join the board of AHDB Pork.

The role is being advertised at a “pivotal time in the industry”, against a backdrop of Brexit, global price volatility, technological innovation and changing habits of British shoppers.

Appointments are for three-year terms from April 2017 and require up to two days per month commitment per year, including attendance at board meetings.

The successful applicants will become members in April next year. The producer must be a levy payer, to ensure the views of producers are heard, and will help to steer the strategy for the sector.

Candidates must demonstrate a good working knowledge of the sector and have experience of developing and implementing strategy.

The closing date for applications is 5pm on 5 December 2016 and anyone interested should email christine.standley@ahdb.org.uk for an application pack.
